Questions

Before you ask.

Is Kris an Aboriginal photographer?

Kris is a Bundjalung and Dhungatti man, living on his grandfather's Nyangbal Country in Ballina. He has photographed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander events across the country since 2018.

Does Kris photograph NAIDOC events?

Yes, including the National NAIDOC Awards. NAIDOC Week ceremonies, flag raisings, award nights and community days are all part of the same work.

Does Kris travel for community and cultural events?

He is based in Ballina and has photographed events across the country since 2018. Send the dates and the place and he comes back with one quote that covers getting there.

How does Kris handle permission and cultural protocol?

He takes direction from the organisers, the families and the Elders in the room about what can be photographed and what stays off camera. For his Here, Now and Always project on Cabbage Tree Island after the 2022 flood, every photograph of the island and the families was made with permission.

Can we use the photos in reports, media and on socials?

Yes. Every gallery comes back at web and print resolution, cleared for promo use, so it can go into an annual report, out to media, and onto your channels.
